The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on Wednesday 26 June 2024, Jockey Sandile Khathi was charged with a contravention of Rule 77.1.1.  The particulars being that he presented himself to take part in a race at Fairview Racecourse on 14 June 2024, when a specimen of his breath disclosed a concentration of alcohol (a banned substance) above the threshold of 0.024 milligrams per 100 millilitres as per the provisions of Rule 77.2.1. 


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on Wednesday, 12 June 2024, Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M in Appendix E on the use of the crop).  The particulars being that he misused his crop by striking AT MY COMMAND more than twelve times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race, during Race 8, Golden Horse Sprint (Grade 1), at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on 01 June 2024.


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Johannesburg on Thursday, 6 June 2024, Jockey M van Rensburg was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3.  The particulars being that he failed to ride GRAPE SHOT out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards and prejudiced his chances of obtaining fourth place in Race 8 at the Vaal Racecourse on 16 May 2024. 


The National Horseracing Authority (NHA) confirms that following the interim suspension imposed on him,  Jockey Sandile Khathi was charged with a contravention of Rule 77.1.1 read with Rule 77.2.2.  The particulars being that urine samples taken from him at Fairview Racecourse on 23 February, 1 March, 8 March, and 15 March 2024, disclosed upon analysis, the presence of Carboxy THC (Cannabis) which is a banned substance in terms of the Rules.


The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on Wednesday, 1 May 2024, Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M in Appendix E on the use of the crop).  The particulars being that he misused his crop by striking CELTIC BEAUTY more than twelve times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race, during Race 6, WORLD SPORTS BETTING SCARLET LADY (Listed), at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on 14 April 2024.


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an inquiry held in Durban on 25 April 2024, Jockey A Mgudlwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of PIRATE PRINCE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to ROCKIE REEF at the 150m, in Race 5 at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on 14 April 2024.


The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Cape Town on Wednesday 17 April 2024, Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of CHARLOTTE BRONTE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to DARLING GIRL leaving the 400m in Race 4 at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse on 2 April 2024.


The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in Johannesburg, on 5 April 2024, Jockey J Gates was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that he, whilst riding MANDALAY, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to CERULEAN DANCER (M Yeni) at the 350m in Race 9 at the Vaal Racecourse on 19 March 2024.  


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Cape Town on Saturday 6 April 2024, Jockey C Orffer was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read with Guideline M in Appendix E on the use of the crop.  The particulars being that he misused his crop by striking MASTER REDOUTE more than twelve times (13) in the entire during Race 10, NEW TURF CARRIERS WESTERN CAPE STAYERS (Grade 3), at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse on 27 January 2024.    


The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in Durban on 3 April 2024, Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M in Appendix E on use of the crop).  The particulars being that he misused his crop by striking SAGE KING more than twelve times (16) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race, during Race 7 at the Vaal Racecourse on 7 March 2024.
