The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (the NHA) confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on Monday, 23 June 2025, Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.2.  The particulars being that as the rider of CHERRY OH BABY, he failed to ride this horse in a competent and professional manner in Race 1 at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 7 May 2025. 


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (NHA) confirms that at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on Friday, 20 June 2025, Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7. The particulars being that, whilst riding DARLING HARBOUR, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to THREE CHEERS (L Mxothwa) and LADY ZULTANITE (*B Plaatjies) when he shifted in at the 1800m in Race 5 at Fairview Racecourse on 13 June 2025.  


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (NHA) confirms that at an Inquiry held at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse on 18 June 2025, Trainer C Bass-Robinson was charged with a contravention of Rule 51.3.  The particulars being that as the Authorised Agent of RED PALACE, which was engaged to run in Race 4, the SplashOUT VICTRESS STAKES, a Grade 3 race run over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse on 14 December 2024, she scratched this horse when not entitled to do so. 


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (NHA) confirms that at an Inquiry held in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 18 June 2025, Jockey G Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of BUFFALO STORM CODY, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to DREAMLAND (C Zackey) when he shifted out at the 150m during Race 8 at Turffontein Racecourse on 3 June 2025.  


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (NHA) confirms that at an Inquiry held in Pietermaritzburg on Monday, 16 June 2025, Jockey K Matsunyane was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M in Appendix E on the use of the crop).  The particulars being that he misused his crop by striking CHARMING CHEETAH more than twelve times (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race, during the running of Race 6, the Gold Medallion (Grade 1), at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on 31 May 2025. 


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (NHA) confirms that at an inquiry held in Durban on 9 June 2025, Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of LITTLE SUZIE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to RAINBOW LORIKEET (A Fortune) during Race 6, at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 24 May 2025.  


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (NHA) confirms that at an inquiry held in Durban on Wednesday, 4 June 2025, Jockey M Yeni was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M in Appendix E on the use of the crop).  The particulars being that he misused his crop by striking I SALUTE YOU more than twelve times (13), during race 7, the World Sports Betting Sledgehammer, (Listed) at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on Sunday, 13 April 2025. 


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (NHA) confirms that at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on Friday, 09 May 2025, Jockey M Yeni was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7. The particulars being that as the Rider of BLOSSOMING MIND, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to DANCING IN WINTER (G Wright), TWILIGHT BAY (C Zackey) and DUCHESS OF SEVILLE (R Fourie) when he shifted out at the 100m in Race 5 at Fairview Racecourse on 11 April 2025.
