The National Horseracing Authority is pleased to announce that its Laboratory Director, Dr Schalk de Kock, has been appointed as the new Chair of the Asian Racing Federation Drug Control Committee (ARFDCC) with effect from 1 March 2022.
Schalk’s longstanding participation in the ARFDCC and the Association of Racing Chemists has contributed to the development of international consistency in drug and medication control policies and practices frequently being adopted by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA). With almost two decades in the horseracing drug control field, Schalk’s expertise will greatly benefit the ARFDCC and its membership.
The NHA is proud of Schalk’s achievements and his appointment as Chair of the ARFDCC. This again demonstrates that although its modest size and limited budget, under the leadership of Schalk de Kock’s scientific knowledge and experience, our laboratory is internationally respected for its high standards and capabilities.
