The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry which was concluded at the Vaal Racecourse on 23 January 2018, Jockey Piere Strydom was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that as the rider of GLIDER PILOT, he failed to ride his horse out to the end of Race 4 run at Turffontein Racecourse on 7 January 2018, to the satisfaction of the Stewards. 

Jockey Strydom pleaded not guilty to the charge but was found guilty of the charge.

The Inquiry Board imposed a penalty of a fine of R2 500-00.

Jockey Strydom has the Right of Appeal against both the finding and the penalty imposed.
