INQUIRY – JOCKEY SEAN VEALE

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on 17 July 2022, Jockey Sean Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M.  The particulars being that he misused his crop by striking BELL STARBUSTER more than 12 times in Race 3 at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on 22 June 2022. 

 Jockey Veale pleaded guilty to and was found guilty of the charge. 

The Inquiry Board after considering the evidence and the mitigating factors, imposed a penalty of a fine of R1 500 and a suspension from riding in two KwaZulu-Natal race meetings. 

Jockey Veale has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
