INQUIRY – JOCKEY GARETH WRIGHT

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 6 December 2021, Jockey Gareth Wright was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that whilst riding HAMPTON COURT, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners in the concluding stages of Race 8 at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 21 November 2021.  

Jockey Wright pleaded guilty to and was found guilty of the charge. 

The Inquiry Board after considering the evidence and the mitigating factors, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days. 

Jockey Wright has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
