INQUIRY – JOCKEY C HABIB

The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that, at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on Friday, 12 June 2026, Jockey C Habib was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of BLAZING FLAME, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to ON THE OUTSIDE (M Yeni) and TP THUNDERCHILD (K Strydom) when shifting inwards at approximately the 150m mark in Race 1 at Fairview Racecourse on 08 June 2026.

Jockey Habib pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of the charge.

Having considered the aggravating and mitigating factors presented, the Inquiry Board imposed a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 (seven) days.

Jockey Habib was advised of his Right of Appeal against both the finding and the penalty imposed.
