The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (NHA) confirms that at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on Friday, 21 November 2025, and concluded on 28 November 2025, Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 72.1.40. The particulars being that as the rider of SHORI KAI, he failed to comply with a reasonable order from the Starter, to proceed into his allocated starting stall during the loading process of Race 2 on 14 November 2025 at Fairview Racecourse.
Jockey Little pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of the charge.
After considering the evidence, along with the aggravating and extenuating factors, and taking Jockey Little’s prior record for this type of contravention into account, the Inquiry Board imposed a penalty of a R2000 fine, of which R1000 is wholly suspended for 24 months on condition that he is not found guilty of a contravention of this Rule during this period.
Jockey Little has the Right of Appeal against both the finding and the penalty imposed.
