INQUIRY – JOCKEY S L NAIDOO

The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (NHA) confirms that at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on 23 July 2025, Jockey S L Naidoo was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7. The particulars being that as the Rider of WALTZING DOLL, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to OLIVE OYL and RED ORCHID RISING when he shifted out at the 400m during Race 1 at Fairview Racecourse on 14 July 2025.   

Jockey Naidoo pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of the charge. 

After considering the evidence, mitigating factors and his previous record relating to this type of contravention, the Inquiry Board imposed the penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of ten (10) days.   

Jockey Naidoo waived his Right of Appeal and elected to take his suspension from 26 July 2025 to 04 August 2025, both days inclusive.
