INQUIRY – JOCKEY C ZACKEY

The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an inquiry held in Pietermaritzburg on 24 July 2024, Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of FRENCH FLAME, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to PARISIAN WALKWAY at the 250m, in Race 2 at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on 10 July 2024. 

Jockey Zackey pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of the charge. 

The Inquiry Board, after considering all factors in mitigation, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days. 

Jockey Zackey was given the Right of Appeal against both the finding and penalty imposed.
