Dear Trainers 

Please note that injectable formulations of Ammonium Chloride and Traumeelâ are classified as Schedule 3 substances according to the Medicines and Related Substances Act, 1965 (Act 101 of 1965).

These substances should only be obtained on Veterinary advice and prescription or from reputable pharmaceutical companies authorized to compound such substances. 

Trainers will be in contravention of the Rules should such substances be found at the stable yards which are inappropriately labelled or identified. 

A reminder that substances not obtained over the counter (OTC) or those not classified as stock remedies (i.e. Schedule 3 and higher) need to be appropriately labelled and dispensed by a Veterinarian or medical health practitioner (in the event of personal medications kept at stable yards).
